 Architectural Designer, Chief Construction
Description: Chief Construction is seeking an Architectural Designer to join the Chief Team. This position works on all aspects of projects from start to finish by preparing preliminary drawings before a project is sold then preparing final working drawings once a project is sold. This position creates 3D models for use in analysis and documentation as well as 2D plans, sections, and details from 3D model. This position works on multiple projects simultaneously and works both independently and under the direction of the Architect.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

* Prepares preliminary drawings for Estimating and customer presentation based upon project schedules.

* Under direction, works closely with Project Managers, Estimating, and customers in preparation of final working drawings once projects are sold.

* Prioritizes daily work to complete drawings in a timely manner, with proper attention to accuracy, neatness, and readability.

* Displays a high level of competency in conventional drafting techniques as related to construction methods. Displays a developing knowledge of Buildings Information Modeling (Revit), Computer Aided Design (AutoCad) and Sketchup.

* Creates 3D models for use in analysis and documentation.

* Documents and annotates 2D plans, sections, and details generated from 3D models.

* Assists Project Managers, Estimating, and field personnel with construction architectural duties relating to responsibilities.

* Incorporates knowledge of construction materials, details, applicable codes, and specifically Chief metal building specifications into drawings and programming.

* Keeps current on new developments in architectural drawing methods; recommends and implements improvements where appropriate.

* Completes requested records and reports. Keeps accurate record of labor on time card.

* Possesses ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.

* Provides unparalleled personal attention to meeting the needs of our customers.

* Treats all stakeholders with dignity and respect.

* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Requires knowledge of architectural drafting and design and construction methods generally gained through a two-year Associate Degree and 3-5 years of related experience or the equivalent. Requires a working knowledge of current Revit and AutoCad software. Knowledge of other products in the Autodesk portfolio (Navisworks, 3Ds Max) beneficial, but not required.
