 Desktop/Computer Support Technician, Chief Corporate Office
Description: Chief Corporate Office is seeking a Desktop/Computer Support Technician to join the Chief team! This position provides technical support and advice to system users; installs, modifies and makes repairs to personnel's computer hardware and software systems; and is responsible for monitoring and upgrading the computer systems and networks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

* Help Desk- Answers and responds to requests.

* Customer service skills- responsible for daily communication with end users covering emails, phone calls, and walk ins.

* Creates, updates, and closes help desk cases in ticketing system. Evaluates priority/severity of incoming requests and dispatch cases to appropriate personnel.

* Installing New Systems- This includes installing hard drives, network cards, monitor cards and monitors, loading software, and training new users on keyboarding, printing, and other basic tasks. Most desktop systems are Win 7 and 10.

* Software Applications- Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD are two of the major applications. We support numerous other applications as required by the unique divisions. Examples include SolidWorks, multiple CAD viewers, Visio, Microsoft Project, CIMnet, IBM Client Access, Trumpf, RADAN, Sigmanest, SDS/2, etc...

* Basic network support- Pulls data cables and terminates ends and jacks. Provides basic level of network support and troubleshooting and assists other technicians and network admins.

* Printer support- Installs, configures, and troubleshoots problems with printers.

* IFS Support- Helps provide a basic level of support for IFS applications such as EE Client, U: drive mappings, and other basic general support with IFS.

* Researches and helps recommend items for purchase when requests come in for new equipment and assists with generating quotes.

* Programming Phone System- Responsible for the software programming on the phone switch.

* Shop Floor- Responsible for communications with the shop floor equipment including thin clients, bar code scanners and other computer systems deployed on the shop floor.

* Virtual Private Network (VPN) Support.

* Provides unparalleled personal attention to meeting the needs of our customers.

* Treats all stakeholders with dignity and respect.

* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 0-2 years of work related experience. 2-year trade school degree or equivalent work experience is preferred. College degree and certifications are a plus.
